Mr. Roots did it again with  BADAZZ BASS RIDDIM Feat. Zan, Mix Prime, Skinny Fabulous, Trilla and Jamesy P. ‏I'm feeling Wasted by Jamesy P ;)... I soooo ready for Trinidad's carnival. I have about a month to get prepared...I'm ashamed. I still don't have a fete line up or tickets, no outfits, no Monday wear and just secured lodging, jouvert and transportation last week. hmmmmm...we'll see.

No Antigua carnival for me this year and I'm sad. Below are the songs by Claudette Peters that I'm absolutely loving. Sounds like Antigua carnival 2011 going be on FIRE! I'm loving Werk It and I can't stop singing  "and dress up on it" from Me & You.

Jalena - Come Baby by NicoleC

Written by Jalena and Produced by AJ Ventura

Born and raised in the British Virgin Islands to German parents, Jalena was exposed to various genres of music. In 2005 she moved to Antigua to sing with the now defunct band, "Da Bhann." This affair proved to be one of the biggest and most challenging learning experiences in Jalena’s career. The once shy island native was forced to perform on a professional level while touring the United States, Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean. After leaving Da Bhann, Jalena moved back to the Virgin Islands to hone her singing skills with several other local bands on the island of Tortola. Jalena released her first (Soca) studio album in August of 2010 to rave reviews! The album is entitled The Jam Sessions consists of the chart toppers "Do Fuh Do", "Wuk Meh", and many more!
Here is one of AK The Artist's soca release for St. Thomas carnival 2011. Sounding good!

Adil Karam, AK The Artist, is currently one of the most widely acclaimed young artists in the United States Virgin Islands blazing up the airwaves and nightclubs with hit after mind-blowing hit in a relatively short space of time. AK The Artist, whose name comes from his initials and his artistic ability, began his musical journey as a local DJ playing gigs while, along the way, building relationships with recording artists and professionals in the music industry.

AK The Artist lives up to the “The Artist” incorporated in his official name with compositions in a multifaceted realm of music genres including Hip Hop/ R&B/Pop/ Soca/ Calypso / Reggae / and Dancehall. With this versatility, AK The Artist transcends cultural boundaries and thus has a following that is very diverse. As a young man full of talent and appeal, he has a growing fan base of young and old who, whenever they see him, fervently scream his name fondly followed by “Roger Dat!”

I was getting over my Post Carnival Depression (PCD) and DJ Private Ryan made me digress. He claim say this mix will RELIEVE PCD... so why am I looking for my costume to put on and have a wuk up session in my bedroom right now???? LOL!

This mix is HOT!!! Took me right back to Girl Power, Eclipze, Lara, and playing mas on Monday and Tuesday in Trinidad. I love that he included songs from other islands. This soca mix will hold me until he puts out his 2012 Pre-Carnival Mix .

Threeks Madness Power Soca Mix 2011

This is arguably one of the better mixes we have heard for Trinidad Carnival 2011. Nothing but uptempo riddims to get your heart racing and ready for de road. Threeks, the sound system responsible for this mix, hails from Berlin Germany, and has been mashing up the place since 2003.

The Sound is composed of a fully talented Crew: Nico (DJ), Madyu (DJ), Alex (Mixes Producer), Weasel (MC) and Kose (graphics, booking and promotion). Together they build an amazing Team that promotes and support Caribbean culture in Germany, Europe, and Worldwide.

They are known for great mixes and the Madness Power Soca Mix 2011 doesn’t disappoint. Just another example of how infectious Caribbean culture is.

This is a livestream... if you are tying to watch this after the concert is over it will not show. It's LIVE not a live taping.
Just a little something to get you hype for next week. Kes looking good!!!! This is his performance at Under the Trees at Normandie with Machel Montano. I hope Machel gets back his voice by the time I reach Trinidad.

Double entendre, liquor, friends, playing mas, 'on de road', fete-ing and liming... you just gotta love all genres of soca/calypso.

BY DE BAR - SW STORM feat RAVI B

Ravi B ft Skinny Fabulous-CYA COME Remix

The 25 year old singer, songwriter, producer and budding Entertainment Consultant, born Marcus Braveboy a.k.a Mark Hardy was introduced to the world of music and entertainment before he could even speak his first words.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago to a Television Producer/ Musician father and music enthusiast mother, there was never any doubt that music would be a big part of his life. His career started at a very young age and ranged from performing at local concerts to winning “Best Instrumentalist” on the local “12 and under” television programme in 1997.

Education then became a main focus, but in 2001 he formed the group “Breathless Krew” with two of his childhood friends. The group began making parodies of current radio hits and created a CD entitled “Roti Gold 2001″ . The CD got the attention of local producer Ken Holder who guided the group musically and co-produced their first single entitled “The Breathless show”. This experience allowed Hardy to showcase his talent as a beat maker/music producer and the following year he co-produced the group’s second single, “Today is Mine” with Dean Williams and Nigel Brizan. “The Breathless Krew” went on to make appearances at “Youth Fest”, “Soca Monarch Preliminaries” as well as television appearances on “Live” with Lisa Wickham and “The Vibe”. The group disbanded in 2004 when members left to further their education.

Mark did his thing on the Miguel ft. J.Cole All I Want Is You. Here Mark Hardy infuses a Reggae flow or chat over the song that gained great momentum last year. Do watch all the way through. We hope there is a part 2 on the way because Jah know this was short!!!

Currently a final year law student, Mark aspires to combine his formal education and his experience in artiste management and music licensing together with his passion for entertainment in order to do his part in raising the local and regional industry to a much higher standard of operation.

As a solo artiste the sky is the limit for a man of such “few words” but “many talents”. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Mark Hardy, because from what we have heard and seen thus far…it appears to be bright.

Nebula868's Confidence is HHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT!!! Push back yuh to ruude! You must check out their other videos.

Brothers "Sean Nebula" and "Wong Nebula" independently possess a talent, style and versatility that complement the other. The duo went on to mesh day and night into one by spending countless hours in the studio honing their craft and tuning their unique blend of Hip Hop and R&B with a local “Trini” flavor into an internationally appealing sound that captivates the listener with beats, lyrical content and sheer swagger.

Nebula868 is set for a bright future!

Alison Hinds can sing no wrong in my eyes. Fellow Virgin Islander, K Victoria, proves that she is well on her way to hanging out at the top with Alison based on how HOT their recently released single - Girl Power - sounds.

Kmisha-Victoria is a talented recording artist, singer and songwriter hailing from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She is the daughter of a Michigan born father and a Virgin Islands born mother. She claims that her multicultural roots helped to craft the artistic influence that she has developed to this day. She has been performing since she was three years old within her community, singing, dancing and acting. She won several competitions and earned the opportunity to perform abroad. In 2005 she won the Miss American Virgin Islands Competition in St. Thomas and went to the Miss World Competition where she placed as a Top 15 semi-finalist and won the Miss World Talent Title out of 110 contestants competing. Recently, she has performed as an opening act for artists such as Gyptian and Maxi Priest, as well as along side reggae sensation, Pressure Buss Pipe.

She has received her Bachelor’s in Music Business Management at the Berklee College of Music. K Victoria also heads her publishing company, K-Victoria Muzik and Publishing.
