I have about a month to get prepared...I'm ashamed. I still don't have a fete line up or tickets, no outfits, no Monday wear and just secured lodging, jouvert and transportation last week. hmmmmm...we'll see.

Just a little something to get you hype for next week. Kes looking good!!!! This is his performance at Under the Trees at Normandie with Machel Montano. I hope Machel gets back his voice by the time I reach Trinidad.

Nebula868's Confidence is HHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTT!!! Push back yuh to ruude! You must check out their other videos.

Brothers "Sean Nebula" and "Wong Nebula" independently possess a talent, style and versatility that complement the other. The duo went on to mesh day and night into one by spending countless hours in the studio honing their craft and tuning their unique blend of Hip Hop and R&B with a local “Trini” flavor into an internationally appealing sound that captivates the listener with beats, lyrical content and sheer swagger.

Nebula868 is set for a bright future!

I can already tell this is going to take some getting use to.

On Sunday, I went to Tassa Roti Shop on Covington to get me some buss up shot and I saw a framed poster of the upcoming screening of Mas Man. I'm a huge fan of Peter Minshall's work, especially since it won The New York International Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary. I'm excited to see this film.

Georgia Caribbean Carnival Inc presents ‘Conversations on Caribbean Culture’ - The Series

Mas Man (The Final Cut) based on the life of Peter Minshall produced and directed by Trinidad and Tobago national, Mr. Dalton Narine has been selected by Georgia Caribbean Carnival, Inc. as part of its quarterly series ‘Conversations on Caribbean Culture’ to be screened in DeKalb County.

Mas Man, will be screened on Friday October 22, at the state of the art, Porter Sandford III Performing Arts & Community Center, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur Georgia 30034. A matinee show at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. evening reception and show.

Tickets are $10 for Matinee (students 10 - 18 $5); $25 for the reception and evening show.

The film examines Minshall’s life and art, a tapestry woven from multiple threads that include his “masography” coursing through 26 years; his design and stage acumen (documented in the 2006 presentation “The Sacred Heart”); the Carnival stage (the Mas) in Trinidad preparing him for the world stage, Barcelona, Atlanta and Salt Lake City Olympic Games contribution; and his set pieces of political protest and entertainment provoking parallel emotions in major North American, European and Asian cities.

Kelis - 22nd Century

The song is OK...but I'm loving the album cover. It was revealed last week even though the album is not scheduled to be released until July 6th. The cover was shot by photographer John "Rankin" Waddell who was also one of the directors on the video for Acapella. I can definitely see the connection.

I know I see a carnival costume in everything. The headpiece she is wearing can definitely be on the roads of Port of Spain for Island People Mas: Shades of the Universe 2011.

I don't need to say why I'm in LOVE with this video. Kelis never fails to amaze us with her creativity and originality. Check the headpiece, costumes/wardrobe and makeup. The song ain't bad either...
Island People Mas did not waste anytime in sharing their theme for 2011. I'm curious and excited to see what they'll design with a theme like Shades of the Universe.
The runways proved that Island People Mas aren't the only ones with the universe on their minds. Several fashion designers infused their Spring 2010 and Fall 2010 collections with space/universe inspirations.
