Fashion in Paradise! Summer Sizzle VI is a fashion destination event. Now in its third year, this spectacular weekend is a lifestyle escape combining the trendiest fashion event in the Caribbean with fashion gala, upscale parties, island tour and a sailing excursion to create the perfect vacation. The festivities kick off on Thursday, July 21st and run through Sunday, July 24, 2011. The event, previously held in the British Virgin Islands will now be held in the United States Virgin Islands.
Summer Sizzle Virgin Islands festivities includes The Culture and Style Welcome Party, The Sunset White Fashion Fete, A Day Sail Excursion to St. John and the Summer Sizzle Fashion Gala & VIP Party and other fabulous activities.
The "Global Glamour" fashion show, the highlight of Summer Sizzle VI, serves as a platform for showcasing international trend-setting fashion designers and models from some of the world’s top agencies from Ford, IMG, DNA, Marilyn, MUSE, Major Models and Q Models.Sessilee Lopez, Arlenis Sosa, Georgie Badiel and Tara Gill are among the diverse selection of top models that rocked the Summer Sizzle runway.

Originally created in 2007 by Terry Donovan (of “Signature by Terry Donovan”), Summer Sizzle began as a fashion show with the purpose of promoting the British Virgin Islands. Since then, Terry’s vision has culminated into a four-day fashion and lifestyle event.
Summer Sizzle is the central highlight United States Virgin Islands each July and has attracted visitors from the Virgin Islands, Caribbean and the USA. Summer Sizzle brings together a number of leading international and regional designers, industry executives, models, celebrities, international media and press, and attracts a diverse audience of affluent professionals and influencers from around the globe. Previous headliners from Summer Sizzle VI Fashion Show include: Kevan Hall, one of Hollywood leading designer, Korto Momolu - Project Runway finalist, Cesar Galindo from the hit Bravo TV show “Fashion Show”, Tracy Reese, Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons, LaQuan Smith, top New York designer, Roger Gary, Guyaneese born New York designer and Caribbean’s most notable designer Claudia Pegus. The History of Hugga Bunch Carnival Troupe Hugga Bunch Carnival Troupe was launched in 1985 as the collaborative and creative forces of several individuals joined. Each force possesses the passion and professional approach to creating distinctive Carnival Troupes. Hugga Bunch is widely noted for their feathers and flair, dominating parade routes across the U.S. Virgin Islands, with St. Thomas as its home base. For many years, Virgin Islands masqueraders were presented with limits. Many sought a Carnival Troupe that would cater to every need, a troupe that provides consistent attention to detail and a troupe whose creativity satisfies every desire. To this end, Hugga Bunch Carnival Troupe has created what is known as the ultimate Carnival experience for participants and spectators alike. In 2009, Hugga Bunch Carnival Troupe took the streets by storm with the shocking Pink, presenting “A Jaw Dropping Affair” with the Show Stoppers and the Door Knockers. In 2010, the group celebrated its 25 Anniversary and drew over 700 members, a record setting trend for a Virgin Islands Carnival Troupe. Presenting “The Silver and White Ball of Angels” for the 25th Anniversary Celebration, left everyone in awe with the vibrant & glistening colors of silver and white. Annually Hugga Bunch is inundated with calls and emails from across the globe, all seeking to become an active member of the group. Thank you for checking out my project. My name is Reginald Cyntje and I’m launching this fund raising campaign on my birthday. Successful funding of this project would be one of the best birthday gifts I've ever received. With the help of Kickstarter, I will be recording my first CD this year. The title is “Freedom’s Children – The Celebration.”
In pursuing this project I am asking the community (you) for help. I need to raise at least $6,500 to meet recording expenses. To create art worthy of presenting, I must ensure there are funds for the musicians, rehearsals, expenses, artwork and presentation.
The story takes the listener on a journey from playful child-like melodies to compositions expressing adult awareness. As I reflect on my experiences to this point, I feel compelled to say thank you to the community by offering a collection of songs I’ve composed. There have been previous opportunities to record as a bandleader but I wanted to wait until I arrived at a place where I could clearly articulate culture, heritage and experience as an adult. At the age of 25, I was not mature enough to create a project that would be about uplifting community.
The pot is seasoned and now it is time to release a representation of my musical view of life. The musicians on the album are world-class performers. There is a story behind each musician performing. For example, I’ve known the drummer since the seventh grade and he inspired me to play jazz. We are the same age, born on the same day. I am grateful he is sharing this experience with me.
“With humility and hard work you will rise above the shackles of tradition.” As you will hear on the CD, the configuration of different instruments will add a fresh sound to your ear. The concept of my music is to spread love, peace and social justice with each expression, fusing jazz and Caribbean traditions. This CD will paint a colorful musical landscape that will take you from drinking your favorite wine at an elegant jazz club to enjoying a refreshing daiquiri on a beautiful Caribbean beach.
