I have a weak spot for Caribbean movies and wish they were made more frequently. It's about time the VI is represented. I'm excited and can't wait to see Chance The Movie, especially since it was filmed on St.Thomas, my home. 'Chance' is slated for completion in 2011, and will be making rounds on the festival circuit; hopefully with huge success.

Chance The Movie-St.Thomas USVI

After receiving an esteemed photography scholarship to the university of his dreams, Darnell Smith’s life is turned upside-down when his mother’s ongoing illness suddenly becomes severe. With no one to provide for his family, Darnell takes measures into his own hands.

The first collaboration between screenwriter Mark Owens and director Evan Kaufmann, Chance is a sun-soaked drama that doubles as an exposé on the seedy underbelly of organized crime and human trafficking in the US Virgin Islands.

Chance chronicles the actions of Darnell Smith, a young, big-hearted St. Thomian, who is the sole breadwinner for his family and whose skills as an amateur photographer have landed him a scholarship to an esteemed school in the States. But with graduation inching closer, Darnell’s mother slips closer to death from an undiagnosed disease.

Lacking the funds to afford treatment and with no one to look after his brothers and sisters, Darnell forgoes school to team up with a local crime lord in a desperate move to take care of his family and save his mother’s life.

Telling a tale of redemption, Chance reveals the lengths to which many have to go in order to survive and take care of those they love, but reminds us that with faith, it is never too late for a miracle

BY DE BAR - SW STORM feat RAVI B

Ravi B ft Skinny Fabulous-CYA COME Remix
I have been so focused on soca that I've been missing out on the latest in reggae. Ms. Cherine Anderson recently  released a music video for her new single - Make Up Sex. Initially, I thought the title was a little elementary but I'm a sucker for her voice and the video is HOT. Check out her outfits and jewels/accessories.

This could mek me loco loco...lick two shot like I'm a psycho...

(Kingston, Jamaica - February 12, 2011) The Queen of Dancehall Soul, Cherine is set to premiere a hot and exciting music video for her latest single "Make up Sex". The video was directed by Kevin Lee of Broadvision and was shot in Port Royal, Jamaica. The video is set to premiere on local TV on Friday, February 19th, 2011 followed by a worldwide premiere on her soon-to-be-launched website www.cherineanderson.com.

The video features a dance routine choreographed by popular dancer and TV Personality Tippa. It also showcases the natural street styles and creativity of some of Kingston’s best female dancers. Cherine collaborates with Jamaican jeweler Duane Bennett and turns up the fashion meter with a few body-hugging and eye catching outfits. She was also adorned with unique custom-made jewelry by Reve Accessories.
Make Up Sex

Cherine turns up the heat in this fierce, sexy laced one-piece cat suit on the set of her new "Make Up Sex" video shoot

"Make up Sex" is a high energy video that showcases Cherine’s versatility as a performer and songwriter. It captures the scenic beauty of the venues and highlights the vibrancy and spirit of young women in Jamaica who will undoubtedly use this an anthem. The video’s high intensity and appeal is credited to Cherine’s strong performance, a steamy love scene and the overall direction and editing of the video.

The single "Make up Sex" is produced by Ward 21 and is a thought provoking, feel good song. Cherine skillfully plays with words in "Make up Sex" to depict real life situations faced by many couples. The "Make up Sex" singer is no stranger to belting out sexy lyrics without being raunchy, as were her hits "Good Love" and "Coming Over" done in collaboration with the high energy chart topping Chuck Fenda. "Make up Sex," the single, released a month ago is already receiving regular rotation on local and international airwaves and is already creating a buzz.

"I had so much fun shooting this video and I can’t wait for my fans to see it! It’s definitely one to look out for," Cherine said of her soon to be released video.

Cherine’s single "Make up Sex" is in high gear for success and is also now available for purchase on iTunes. Cherine has been busy performing, writing and recording. Look out for much more from Cherine in 2011.

Why didn't I think of this?! I've wasted so much money on safety pins trying to keeping my DDs from popping buttons. These shirts just might be worth every penny... and it's a lot of pennies.

The Shirts
Sewn in our exclusive cool stretch cotton from our European mill. Our collars and cuffs will stay crisp, our shirts are long enough to tuck in and stay tucked in, and ours are decidedly feminine and lightweight.

Oh, did we mention The Shirt won't gape at the bust? No wonder it's The everyday, everyway Shirt™.

This Fall seems like it's going to be fun! Here are some of the trends to look forward to:

1. VELVET
Deep luxe velvet caught our eye.

We can't get enough of Proenza Schouler's exceptional
panné velvet graphic dress, while daywear boast fresh silhouettes from the likes of
Jenni Kayne, Steven Alan, and Tory Burch. Slick, chic, and tailored.

2. TUX LUXE
Tuxedo dressing comes into play.

Menswear-inspired suits and separates were remixed
with tuxedo details creating a decadent directional statement. DKNY's tuxedo
striped cape coat will make for a standout topper, and we can't stop
swooning over Derek Lam's bright red and black trousers. .

Left to right: Ralph Lauren, Derek Lam, DKNY, Bill Blass.

3. SHEEN
Shimmer and shine makes everything look fine.

Come Fall, we're dousing ourselves in a little, or a lot, of glossy components.
Preen's multi-colored mash-up is a genius take on dressed-up daywear, and we're
obsessing over DVF's stunning horizontal striped dress. .
Left to right: Preen, Jen Kao, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg.

4. PEPLUM
Sweet poufs of volume add texture and depth.

Peplum detailing, no longer just for for French aristocrats, received a fresh
face lift for Fall. Thakoon's fanciful take on the lumberjack plaid vest was a pure stroke
of genius. Other notable pieces hail from Marc Jacobs's bedazzled ensemble,
to more minimal looks from Preen, Peter Som.

5. THIGH-HIGH SLITS
Leg-bearing cuts emote a sensual and sleek vibe.

Hemlines are getting longer but that doesn't mean you won't be showing
some skin. We foresee ourselves wearing these thigh-high slits — seen from Michael Kors,
Diane von Furstenberg, Jenni Kayne, and Jason Wu — to swanky dinner soirees
and cocktail parties in the near future.

Left to right: Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Jenni Kayne, Jason Wu.

6. SHEARLING AND FUR
Sumptuous shearling and fur made a major mark in our book.

We're heady in lust with the endless shearling and fur options from
the runway. For those not opposed to it, check out these amazing
looks from Vera Wang, Prabal Gurung, Rag & Bone,
and Alexander Wang for the ultimate
and decadent Winter essential.

7. PENCIL SKIRTS
Lady-like skirts are back and better than ever.

We're stowing away our mini-skirts for this chic cut now and later for Fall.
Details, like buckles on Altuzarra's version and Libertine's textural
print, add the perfect punky and artful touch
to an otherwise modest shape.

Left to right: Tommy Hilfiger, Altuzarra, Libertine, Marc Jacobs.

8. CAPES AND PONCHOS
Capes and ponchos are here to stay.

If you haven't invested in a poncho or cape, now is the time. Fall 2011
displayed a cornucopia of new styles, ranging from a nubby off-white Western-inspired
poncho from Band of Outsiders to a vibrant streamlined cape coat
from DKNY. What's not to love?

Left to right: DKNY, Rag & Bone, Band of Outsiders, Edun.

9. DUSTER COATS
Elegant floor-sweeping coats grabbed our attention.

Duster coats will become a Winter essential thanks to Rodarte, Bill Blass,
Michael Kors, and Theyskens Theory. We especially love them paired with long
maxis and wide-leg trouser pants.

For over 17 years, Pantone, the global authority on color, has surveyed the designers of New York Fashion Week and beyond to bring you the season's most important color trends. This report previews the most prominent hues for fall 2011.

Taking cues from the great masters, sepia tones of old Hollywood, Chinese opera, cityscapes and countryside, designers are paying close attention to texture, contrast and color for fall 2011 – pairing menswear with feminine twists, warm prints with cool metals, incorporating both old and new influences, and creating an intriguing balance between colors.
“Designers take a painterly approach to fall 2011 by artfully combining bright colors with staple neutrals, reminiscent of how an artist would construct a stunning work of art,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Much like a painter's masterpiece, there is a certain romance to this season's palette.”
Bamboo, a surprising fall hue, brings a warm, exotic flavor to the season. Like a filtered sunset on the waning days of fall, Bamboo is a standout yellow with a subtle green undertone. This dappled shade pairs dramatically with several of the top 10, including Phlox, Teal and Honeysuckle.
Radiant Emberglow, a traditional autumnal tone, emanates the warmth of a glowing fire – the perfect panacea to the crisp air of fall. Combine Emberglow with Coffee Liqueúr for a classic look, or with Honeysuckle for something a bit more retro. Add a spark with shoes or a handbag in Emberglow, or perhaps a patterned scarf combining purpled Phlox or Deep Teal.
Offering a sense of continuity from spring, dynamic Honeysuckle adds a bold punctuation point. This playful, reddish pink works with any other color in the palette, especially fall staples like Coffee Liqueúr and Nougat. To add some intensity, pair it with complementary Bamboo. Flirtatious and festive, Honeysuckle produces a healthy glow – great for cosmetics and holiday soirees.
Phlox, a magical, deep purple with a hint of mystery, is an outstanding statement when worn on its own. Add Phlox to this season's neutrals to create a bit of drama, or combine it with Cedar, Deep Teal or Coffee Liqueúr for something extraordinary. To add even more excitement, pair Phlox with Honeysuckle or Bamboo against a Cedar background – a combination inspired by Mother Nature.
Evoking the freshness of a cool mist in a dark forest, Cedar is a versatile, mid-tone neutral green. It is a natural with Deep Teal, and sophisticated and timeless with Phlox or Orchid Hush. Deep Teal, a strong, blue-toned green, suggests ocean depths and the color of the sky as daylight descends into darkness. A great standard when used with Cedar, its color-wheel neighbor, Deep Teal is also a unique counterpoint to Honeysuckle.
Consumers continue to add stability to their wardrobes with neutrals. Rich, decadent Coffee Liqueúr brings a sense of elegance to fall, and is a savory alternative to basic black. A deliciously warm camel tan, Nougat is tastefully embellished by Phlox, Emberglow or Honeysuckle. Orchid Hush, a unique tone of gray with complex orchid undertones, blends well with any other color in the palette. Quarry, a reliable medium gray, remains, as always, a practical, dependable staple.
